Members of Division 12 have had "on the job training"
as part of their Marine Safety Watchstander qualification. The members
maintain a Personal Qualification System Workbook that lists each
task that must performed with a verifying officer. CWO McDermid, Marine
Safety Detachment, Lewes, Delaware has held weekly training sessions
to help each member meet the minimum requirements. The training is
nearly complete and CWO McDermid is preparing to retire from the Coast
Guard. The following picture was taken at his last class before retirement.
